'Bout dis kid

Hai

- Don't judge me by my cover,
there are lots of secrets hidden between the pages of my book -

Hey there, random Internet denizen and visitor to this site! I'm Andrea (pronounced An-drey-ah. None of that An-dree-ah business, please), the weird little nerd that runs this place. Welcome to my lair! Wait, did I say lair? I meant blog. Definitely meant blog. So you'd like to know more about me, huh? Well, I'll try...

I'm a sixteen-year-old kid from London, UK. I'm just your typical angsty, introverted teen who is often written off as "quiet" and "nice" by people who don't know me because I rarely let people see the real me. I'm yet another confused kid still trying to figure out who I am and how to navigate this treacherous journey called "life", making mistakes as I go and learning all the while.

My greatest passion is writing. Quite simply, writing is who I am, what I was born to do, there's no doubt about it. I've been coming up with stories since I learned how to string two words together and writing them down since I learned how to hold a pencil. My head is, has always been, and always will be filled with hundreds of weird and wonderful fictional stories, the voices of a hundred fictional characters, the vision of a hundred fictional worlds... However I'm not that great at turning all these ideas into actual pieces of writing, so a whole lot of them end up being forgotten. I'm a dreamer who lives with her head in the clouds and who lives for the feeling of weaving pictures using words. (However I'm also a realist who always sees things as they are - IDK man I'm a walking contradiction what else can I say.)

I love stories that break the rules, that are daring and different and challenge the way people think, and these are the types of stories I would like to write someday. My greatest dream is to one day be a bestselling author (*crosses fingers*).

I also LOVE to read, when I was younger I would honestly take like five books out from the library at a time and read them all within a week... These days I don't have as much time but I still read a lot. My favourite genres are sci-fi and fantasy, and mystery and adventure too (basically anything that will thrill me). I'm a firm believer than any book can be made better by adding diverse characters.

I'm also part of the LGBTQ+ community (read: gay asf) and proud of it, and if you have a problem with that, you need to leave.

I've just embarked on a new chapter of my life by starting sixth form, however for the past eight years I've been an outlaw, i.e. homeschooled. I've been homeschooled for most of my life and I believe that it's because of this that I'm the person I am today. Just think - I grew up without other kids my age telling me how I should act or what I should believe, and nobody killed off my creativity or love of writing by making me stay inside a cramped classroom for hours on end. Instead, I was allowed to grow into the person who I truly am. I will always be extremely grateful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to grow up and learn in this way.

Wow this is starting to sound like an Oscar acceptance speech... Umm... I think something went wrong here?? IDK.

My dream jobs would be to either be a) president of the world, b) captain of an intergalactic spaceship, or c) a writer. What do you mean, the first two aren't possible?! Killjoy. They're not possible YET, okay? But fine, for the time being I'll take being a writer.

What is this blog about, I hear you ask? Well... I'm afraid I'm going to have to get back to you on that one. I... I have no idea? I blog about anything I feel like blogging about: books, writing, my life, my current writing project, things that have been on my mind, rants... Just about anything. I don't have a particular niche, and that's fine! I just go with the flow.

I have a minor obsession with vampires. And spaceships. And spies. (Seriously do not ask.) Hence the blog name.

My philosophy in life is this and it's something I feel very strongly about and I will gladly fight anyone who disagrees with me. *smiles sweetly*
